"I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, would give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him. I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened so that you may know what is the hope of his calling, what is the wealth of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the mighty working of his strength." - Ephesians 1:17-19 (CSB) May we speak a word of encouragement over you, dear one? We are who God says we are. Know this: you are not an afterthought, not a mistake, not a liability. You have been created in the very image of God. That means every aspect of your physicality, the very skin you're in, the hair texture that is on your head, the structure of your body, every unique aspect of yourself, even your personality, has been made in the image of God. And any person or system that seeks to diminish the value of the uniqueness of who you are, is actually doing thus to God Himself, because you are an expression of the creative genius of God. This month, Vintage Pearls MKE would like to extend the invitation to listen and view Priscilla Shirer's video on "Identity in Jesus Christ." Please click on image below or the link in yellow above: Oh, friend. You are not your behavior. You are not your feelings. You are not what others have called or labeled you. You are not your past. You are not your circumstances, and they do not dictate and change the intrinsic value of who you are as God's Beloved. You are not lost in the crowd to Jesus, and He is fully aware and immersed in the circumstances of your life, even when we are not aware or when we do not feel Him. May He meet with you to remind you of the truth of WHO YOU ARE. Jesus is with you, and we are praying for you. Please reach out anytime. "No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us." - Romans 8:37 - Do you enjoy podcasts? We'd love to recommend "Transforming the Church" (<--Apple Podcast link) by Dr. and Pastor Derwin Gray and his co-host Alexandra Hoover. In this short, 23-minute episode, our co-hosts have an honest and vulnerable conversation on overcoming shame. In addition to an Apple Podcast, this podcast can also be found on Google Podcasts, Spotify, and Soundcloud. God wants us transformed. Our sin, our shame, and our brokenness does not define us; Jesus' victory does. We believe in a God that redeems, not only to heal us, but to become, as Henry Nouwen describes, "wounded healers" ourselves. If you struggle with guilt or shame, we pray you experience the love and transformation found in Jesus. Please take a listen, and reach out to us if we can ever pray for you in any way. We're here for you. Call or Text: 414.858.8554 Email: vintagepearlsmke@gmail.com "Nobody escapes being wounded. We are all wounded people, whether physically, emotionally, mentally, or spiritually. The main question is not, 'How can we hide our wounds?' so we don't have to be embarrassed, but 'How can we put our woundedness in the service of others?' When our wounds cease to be a source of shame, and become a source of healing, we have become wounded healers." - Henry Nouwen - |
